Jorge and Lesley opened Le Rendez-vous Restaurant in July 2001 and since then gained many regular loyal customers.
You can always be sure of a warm and friendly welcome by Lesley and Cedric the French Head waiter, who has an excellent knowledge of wines from around the world.
The exposed brickwork and beams add to the atmosphere in this intimate, cosy 42 seater, characterful 400 year old French Restaurant.
At the rear is a pretty enclosed terrace garden for Al fresco dining in the summer months.
Jorge’s impressive career history includes working at The Dorchester Hotel and The Ivy. With his commitment, passion for food and flair in the kitchen he always manages to whet appetites and tempt diners.
Using only high quality fresh seasonal products such as exotic wild mushrooms, Scottish beef, seasonal game, and always fresh fish from the local Fishmonger as an example. With a contemporary approach to some traditional recipes and classic food combinations . Some of the most popular dishes are Trio of smoked salmon, avocado and prawns or King Scallops wrapped in pancetta in a frothy white wine sauce, calves liver and bacon, bubble and squeak, onion gravy, loin of venison with red cabbage and our must have crème brulée.
Every wednesday is Spanish night with a large selection of hot and cold tapas including king prawns tossed in garlic butter, Spanish black pudding, chorizo sausage or baby eels. By far the most popular is the mixed seafood paella, or the cata plana (a fish stew cooked and served in a domed copper pot).
The wine list is very extensive with over 40 different wines world wide, mostly French but also Spanish, Italian and new world wines. |
